Feeling emotionally exhausted, overwhelmed, or like you’ve lost your sense of self?
You’re not alone — and you don’t have to figure it all out by yourself.
At Nautilus Counselling, I offer a calm, confidential space to help you feel more steady, clear, and connected to who you are.
Together, we can explore what’s going on, at your pace, and gently work towards a place of more ease, confidence and balance.
Whether you’re struggling with anxiety, past experiences, burnout, people-pleasing, or simply feeling stuck, you are welcome here.
My approach involves exploring and supporting all the parts of you, including your current self who might feel exhausted and desperate, as well as your inner child who may need to be heard for a change. i also recognise the role the body plays in healing and that bringing together mind and body can be a life-changing act. Ways that I can support you include:
Simply talking through what has happened and the feelings involved.
Working creatively including art, writing, visualisation, and metaphor.
I can help you work towards living in the present rather than in the past or future.
I can support you to process difficult emotions that are stored in the body.
Inner child work so that your inner child finally feels listened to and supported.
Identifying and changing your patterns in family and work life.
I am trained to use Eye Movement, Desensitisation and Regulation Therapy (EMDR). This is a method of bringing together past, present and future to help process memories. I would not use this type of therapy unless we had discussed it in advance. Please contact me if you have any questions about this therapy.
I work in a trauma informed way so I use a three phase approach in my counselling which means that we can first of all ensure that you are grounded, both in the counselling relationship and in your everyday life. We can then move on to process the difficult things that have happened. After this we can talk about the future that you would like to build for yourself.
The duration of the counselling depends on the individual and the circumstances. I do both long term and short term counselling. I am also very happy to help you if you are already part way through your healing journey (for example, if you have had counselling before) and would like to move on to the next stage.
I work in a collaborative way and I am always open to feedback regarding the suggestions that I make in your counselling (after all, they are always only suggestions!) I also take confidentially and your autonomy very seriously. I believe that I can only help people to move forward if they feel heard and as safe as possible.
In addition to some face-to-face sessions in OX4, I offer online counselling. Online sessions are available via Zoom, Google Meet, WhatsApp Video and Facetime, allowing for greater flexibility, reaching clients from the surrounding areas of Marston, Cowley, Wood Farm, Sandhills, Risinghurst, Wheatley, Summertown and across the UK.
Online counselling can work very well for many people as it is more convenient than face to face (with no travel time or parking to worry about!) it can be very helpful for you to be in the comfort of your own home, particularly when talking about difficult subjects. This can even mean that the work evolves more quickly than in face to face sessions.
Payments to be made at least 24 hours in advance via the booking management system. The full fee needs to be paid for cancellations less than 48 hours in advance.
